• Leadership Initiatives

  • The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Leadership programs are designed to hone the skills of key leaders for the purpose of discussing challenges and opportunities facing the community and inventive ways to resolve these challenges while utilizing the opportunities. The Leadership Initiatives currently has three successful programs: Youth Leadership Alliance, Leadership Institute and Youth Career Expo.

The Leadership programs are important to our community because they...

» Broaden the base of local leaders
» Enhance awareness of local issues
» Increase understanding of different perspectives
» Encourage citizen involvement in solving our challenges

    Youth Leadership Alliance

The mission of Youth Leadership Alliance (YLA) is to develop student community leaders who possess the skills, confidence and tools to make a difference in their own lives while becoming effective leaders in their “communities.” YLA instills the values and the importance of community stewardship, helping youth to create networks and resources within their own community that will encourage involvement.
