• The Chamber’s Military Affairs Council (MAC) serves as a bridge between local business and the military communities. The MAC addresses many issues, including legislative support of initiatives that benefit service-members and their families, providing programs that help transitioning military and federal employees to find local jobs, and developing methods through which both military and civilians leaders might work cooperatively in meeting shared objectives.

Acknowledging Hampton Roads as the world’s military capital, the Peninsula enjoys the presence of all five branches of the service- Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard (Active, Reserve, National Guard, and veterans). There is no business on the Peninsula that is not affected by the strong military presence, and the MAC is committed to serving those who serve our country and who are also, our customers and neighbors.

The influence of service members extends into the civilian community in innumerable ways, and their contributions both strengthen and improve the quality of life for all local citizens. Affiliating with the MAC, communicates both an understanding of, and appreciation for, how important the military is to the Peninsula.  The MAC’s intent is to solidify a stronger community, which can be achieved by closer cooperation among military, political, civic and business leaders. For information on MAC membership, contact the Chamber.
