Chamber Committees


Involvement, relevance and fiscal stability are key to the success of any organization. The strength of the Chamber lies in its membership working together to enhance the economic stability and health of the region. The Chamber offers numerous opportunities for involvement through its committees, councils and exchanges operating under the chamber umbrella. A few of these opportunities are listed below: 


GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS    

Public policy monitoring arm of the Chamber with specific focus on state regulatory issues. The committee meets on an "as-needed" basis. For more information on Government Affairs please contact Mike Kuhns at mkuhns@vpcc.org. 


BUSINESS SAFARI  

Responsible for the organization of the Chamber's annual trade show and expo. Includes obtaining sponsors, vendors, ticket sales, event marketing and event set-up. Meets monthly January to September. For more information on Special Events, please contact Carrice White at cwhite@vpcc.org.

 

MILITARY JOB FAIR
Committee members organize two annual employment fairs, one in April and one in October. Members meet on a monthly basis and
 will participate in obtaining sponsors, vendors, food, ticket sales, and preparing site for event.  For more information on Special Events, please contact Carrice White at cwhite@vpcc.org 

YOUTH CAREER EXPO
Responsible for the organization of the Chamber's annual Youth Career Expo. This event provides high school students on the Peninsula the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge  and resources that will improve  their future employability.  The committee participates in obtaining sponsors, vendors, volunteers, school and student involvement, and preparing site for event.
