Public Policy

The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is a prominent and pro-active force in Public Policy, speaking on behalf of the region's businesses. We add value to our business community and to the community at large by advocating policy initiatives that are critical to economic growth, job creation and job security. The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has an aggressive Legislative Agenda as we advocate for business-friendly policies.

Shaping public policy is a complex and multifaceted process that involves the interplay of numerous individuals and interest groups competing and collaborating to influence policymakers to act in a particular way. We use a variety of tactics and tools to advance our members and community aims, including advocating positions publicly, attempting to educate supporters and opponents, mobilizing, lobbying and applying polictal pressure towards a issue that we support.
