Virginia Beer Company Officially Opens
Historic Yorktown welcomed a vibrant new business this winter with the grand opening of The Kitchen, the latest brewpub from The Virginia Beer Company. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on January 29, 2026, followed by a public celebration on January 30, marking a significant milestone for both the brewery and York County’s growing economy.
Located along Route 17, The Kitchen brings not only award-winning craft beer but also enhanced dining, jobs, and community space to the heart of York County. The project was the result of strong collaboration between the County’s economic development staff, led by Kristi Olsen-Hayes, Director of York County’s Department of Economic & Tourism Development, and the VBC team — from early planning and design through construction and opening day.
The brewpub is expected to draw visitors and locals alike, contributing to increased foot traffic in surrounding businesses and adding vibrancy to the local tourism and hospitality scene. With new employment opportunities and an inviting community destination, this opening underscores York County’s commitment to fostering business growth and quality of life for residents.
