On Wednesday, September 10th, the Virginia Peninsula Chamber proudly hosted our annual Military Recognition Breakfast at the Newport News - Hampton Holiday Inn.
This annual event honors active-duty service members from each branch of the military who exemplify the highest military core values and demonstrate excellence in the performance of their duties.
We were honored to present the 2025 Heroes of Military Service Award to SSG Jason J. Newton (U.S. Army), SSgt Roman A. Gomezguillen (U.S. Marine Corps), CS1 Charity Asideu (U.S. Navy), MMNC Trevor H. Eckert (U.S. Navy – SUPSHIP), A1C Jonathan Barnes (U.S. Air Force), and OS1 Brittany J. Johnson (U.S. Coast Guard).
A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Darrell K. Williams, Lieutenant General (Retired) and President of Hampton University, who delivered an inspiring message: “Remember why you serve, or why you served”.
